Not that great of a story for me tbh. it might be because I love Yugioh as it was my favourite from my childhood. When starting the story I expected it would be about him having the powers of all the items and from these items he would be able to summon monsters to fight for him. As the main powers of the items where they summoned monsters to fight for them during ancient times. All these other effects were minor compared to this. The minor ones where darkness magic, mind-reading, mind control, seeing the past and future, a guide to anywhere you desire, fusing monsters and tons of stuff to do with souls such as judging, sealing, looking into the soul etc. I thought he would have all the items so he can use all these powers. I mean he will the items to summon monsters to fight for him etc Instead he gets magic cards that appear from nowhere that he uses... this makes the main power of the items completely pointless like wtf. Hope this makes sense? The whole thing with spell cards and him stealing gears is annoying and degrades the story for me as well. The spell cards and trap cards etc cam from when pegasus created the game. Making more strategic etc It had nothing to do with the items. The items had the souls of monsters sealed into tablets that fought. The puzzle summoned them into reality instead of using tablets if I remember right. Then the first thing he does in the story is to steal a sacred gear like wtf I wanted to read the story because of the items, not just so he can steal a sacred gear off of the fcking bat... Lastly, I know this isn't really a problem but his name annoys me. His name is called yami atem... but then the pharaoh was called Yami because nobody knew his name. So it was like Yami yugi when talking about him. Later on, he was just called the pharaoh, but when his name came out as atem that was how he is addressed as now. So the whole yami thing bugged me. Should just be called Atem and it would be fine... Was hoping he would have his own guardian spirit he talked to as well ngl... I hope the author gets what I am trying to say with all this? I guess I expected something different or a bit more technical and was left disappointed... Well gl to author and hope this helps anyone who had the same thinking as me.
