Losing one’s parents, escaping an abusive uncle, and being sole for the story’s protagonist, Iris Ember. In the story there, she has an encounter with Ren, a man whose arrival triggers a series of bizarre and dramatic shifts in the protagonist’s life. Not being able to overcome the traumas, Iris spirals into a ghostly and supernatural world associated with Ren’s past.
An American-European dual nationality girl, Iris, has to unveil the complex and twisted plot of her enemies whose identity remains a mystery. Easier to predict and quite trivial are such scenes, as those describing how the relations between her and Ren evolve and how they have to make certain decisions in their lives defining the very concept of love.
