... harem again? Huft. Not gonna read it then. Coz the girl in harem is either retard or act like a b*tch that easly seduced and then suddenly fall in love with MC with no clear reason.

In this world Dark Magic makes you go bad. The author decided it. It's his world, he writes whatever he wants do that's how it is. It is no Link who thinks that black magic makes you bat. It is a fact.

Totally wrong. He was the best mage in the VR-mmorpg so it is pretty normal that he becomes a pretty good battle mage in this world. He cannot chop someone, he doesn't have the strenght of a warrior or of an assassin. You do not understand was you read. Also, he couldn't escape from level 3-4 assassins so he had to make preparations.

Your first post: Yes I understand that the author can decide what is good or evil in his novel. But, you have to understand there is no such thing as good and evil no matter how many novels you read. The author is purposing saying black magic is evil because the spell uses questionable things to revive someone or prolong their life. This to me seems like a good thing no matter how evil you make it out to be. You could essentially Revive an important character in history to spread lost knowledge or prolong ones life to continue fighting for what ever cause they wish to achieve If light magic can't help him anymore. OFC there needs to be rules and restriction to such a thing but I see no reason that it would be Pure Evil as the author makes it out to be. Your Second Post: IDK where you came up with this? I have said nothing about his talent as a Mage in my review. If you were reading my comment on one of the chapters that listed something like this. "IDK how he moves around so many heavy objects and walk everywhere as a weak kid just as soon as he got transferred since its real life and not a VR game. Please note that my review was 3 months ago and i felt the need to reply to this non-sense. I hate how the Author only shows the perspective of the MC. I stopped reading when the MC was attacked on the wagon(i think?) because he was getting way to nosy in the attackers teacher studying dark magic to live longer to serve the academy ( whats wrong with that?) The MC then blatantly states that the attacker killed an innocent in the attack. Then the MC blows the whole forest up with fire magic to catch the attacker(IDK how this is allowed if black magic is banned). Heres the thing. The innocent bystander woulden't have died if the MC was minding his own business. I understand that he was investigating the teacher due to the future event. But if he wasn't so inclined that anything to do with black magic is evil he could have walked up to the teacher in the study and offer help. The only reason he was using dark magic was to help the academy and he only turned into a demon after aquireing an object the MC found. WHICH WAS A BIG clue that the MC could have linked the professor going berserk (but the MC is an idiot). there was no need for investigation at that point since the cause of the release of the demon has been nullified. That's when I stopped reading. please look into the perspective of the the so called evil people as well. they could just as well be on a quest to save humanity in their own way. there is no such thing as a peaceful resolution but most authors like to think so. This is why I deem this novel is for kids because of its one sided heroic tale.

wow, SOOOOOOOOOOO much to correct about this review i dont even know where to start........(cracks all the joints in my body) this is gona be a long one.........i guess first i'll say i agree with your stance on the morality of magic. Its neither good nor evil, only the person using it fits one of those categories. But i think your understanding of black magic is off. It would translate better as evil magic rather than shadow magic because the main focus is on the soul, rather than the manipulation of the darkness element(which falls more in the category of secret magic, with a bit of crossover). Now the main usages of magic relating to the soul are: 1. access to the use of life force as a supplement for mana 2. powerful mind manipulation capabilities(which is, in my opinion, the SCARIEST F*****G POWER OF ALL TIME, in any novel) 3. Making deals with demon gods of the Abyss for various divine buffs, weapons, or spells. Now these demon gods are the truly evil villains of this story. They are an outside force not native to the world who gain power by gathering the souls of the native inhabitants and want nothing more than to be able to cross the natural barrier protecting the world so they can conquer it and open up a wholesale slaughter on the inhabitants. As for why they're so evil and the gods of light are so good? (shrugs) That's just the way the world is writen. If you dont like it I recommend sending the author harassing and angry messages at least once a day. So, as with all magic in the novel, before you can use soul magic you need to study and understand it extensively. Which will require lots of tests and experimentation, and you're not gona want to use your own soul for this. Meaning you're gona need "resources", which is what leads to the widespread belief that practitioners of black magic are evil. In Ch. idontremember link explains that most practitioners didnt start out evil (having not unreasonable goals like extending their own lives, or seeking power to protect something) but over the course of their experimentation the overwelming majority developed a cold and callous attitude towards the lives of others. If their reserch was successful they were rewarded with massive amounts of power which only exacerbated their bad attitude. This aint from the novel but it's a sentiment I believe in "absolute power corrupts absolutely". These are the types of black mages link hates, he recognizes no magic is intrinsicly good or evil and is actually cool with the 1% of black mages who maintain their humanity,which leads to my second point.(PHEW, holy crap all that was only the first point)

SECOND POINT(oh god, here we go again). Link does not have a harem, he's a 1 wifu type of MC. While several women will join his party, fight by his side, and travel with him for a time. These are all temporary parties and they go back to their own lives after the battle or journey they joined link for is over. He never enters a romantic relationship with any of them except the 1 true wifu Celine. Who as if to further prove point 1, that link isn't intolerent of all things related to black magic, is half demon half human as well as the runaway daughter of the strongest demon god N-somethingoranther. Dont forget that all of these companions are strong independent women, powerful fighters, and people with rank and position in their own rights. An elf princess, niece of a king, angel of light, prophet of truth, or dragon emmisary to the queen. They're not some love-drunk hormonal teenage girls out looking for a man. They have missions to complete, battles to fight, and nations to defend. In fact with the exception of Annie who has a 1-sided crush on link, none of them have romantic feelings for him either. And link is a bit too busy plowing celine throught the headboard to notice annie. (well, that wasnt so bad, but there's still more to correct. ONWORD HO!!!)

Come here sweet child, sit on pappy's knee and let him tell you about life. Ya see little one, somethimes when the mood is just right a bird that wants to slum it meets a bee who's feeling kinky, and they do unfathomable things together that will never be spoken of in the light of day. They join together, body and soul, which creates a new little soul. Then that soul is given life and brought into the world as a bouncing baby abomination. So you see youngling, the soul and lifeforce have an symbyotic relationship. That applies to all souls, from a deformed monstrosity that craves nothing more than the sweet release of death. To a human like you. To an immensely strong, incalculably clever, stunningly handsome, and perpetually humble God like myself. Now listen close small pup, the lifeforce that radiates from our souls is a miraculous and powerful energy. But it is also an extremely delicate flame that can be blown out with a single spell from the dastardly sneaky black mages. Who hide under the beds of naughty little welps that knocked over the bottel of pappy's 100 year old barrel aged happy juice. Then after they have collected the lifeforce of hundreds of young sprouts just like you. They toss it all in a pool with several other "questionable things" tainted by or from the abyss which wants nothing less than the total annialation of our world. Then they invoke a spell and form a contract with a demon god and sleep in the pool till their flesh melts away and nothing but bones remain. The tainted souls of these mages are then bound by the demon god to the bones, granting the new lich an extraodinarily long life, to be lived in service to the demon god. But dont be frightened baby chick because even a long life must end eventually, and no power in this world can bring about a true resurrection. Not even the almighty author-sama. The closest thing is a mindless flesh craving zombie from a spell granted by a demon god. But they are stupid things that must be led by an intelligent undead who gifted it's still living body to undeath. in order to retain its mind. Those lost and cumbling bones filled with ancient secret wisdom will hide their secrets for all time. Speaking of time it's right about time you tottle off to bed newborn hatchling, sleep tight, have pleasant dreams, and dont let the demon gods flay your soul like ramsey snow! Just from seeing and reading your long posts that you have pointed out being written on an xbox controller. I respect your dedication to see the faults of what i posted and try to make me see the light. Now what you have conveyed to me (black magic) I have already known. I was not going to make a long review describing the intricacies of the soul. I still stand by how I said that black magic is beneficial. All I gave was a short summery of what I experienced in the novel by not looking too deep into it. No matter what you say about the novel not being a harem. I will still stand by my point. Women are flocking toward the MC telling him how amazing he is and the author describes their feeling toward him. Even though the author forces the MC into a single relationship it just feels out of place. After i have read all your posts I noticed that you didn't say nothing about his cheesy dialog toward said females which is a shame because i wanted you to describe to me how that makes women fall in love with him. The only thing i can think of is that the Author made his female cast dense as **** and only fall in love with the MC because hes the authors pet. Even if its one sided love it is still a harem until Link explicitly walks up to them and tells them to **** off.

To be fair i only wrote so much cause i aint slept in 4 day and if you never gone that long without sleep know that the hallucinations start after 3 days. So im in a rather fun state of mind and feel like defending one of my favorite novels on this site that gets an unreasonable amount of hate. I mean really how can people critisize this and rank LOHP at #1, the thing is pure garbage. I lost count of how many times i threw up in my mouth every single time any ranking divice came up with another "legendary" reaction. OMG its the rumored "Chiming of bells, piss on my head and tell me its rain, birds fly in the morning", reaction, OMG. And then repeat the same process the next time he encounters a ranking device. You wana talk about cheesy dialog an dense characters, Archmage dont even enter my top 10. It may not be the best writing in the world and there are plenty of cliche moment but not to the point where i could even call it cringe worthy. The only true fault i find with this novel is the power ranking is all over the place. And even that i kinda enjoy cause im so tired of noves where 1 rank 8 can singlehandedly destroy an army of thousands of rank 7s. I mean really, maybe he could take 5-10 rank 7s but beyond that is just poor writing. As for your views on his harem, i respect your right to be completely and utterly wrong. His relstionship with celine is in no way forced or out of place and she was the only one he was interested in since before he was even summoned to the world.. And of course women are gona be impressed with him and tell him how amazing he is, cause he is impressive and amazing, he's got Archmage class skills. If just being around him and respecting his skills is what makes a harem even then i cant call this a harem story cause none of them stick around fror long. I aint seen annie in like the last 100 chapters where i am in the story. It aint only women neither the men around him are impressed by him and compliment him too, you wana add them to his "harem".

Yes, I find myself in disbelief how some novels reach such a high standard on this site. When Shadow hack was #1 awhile back I felt as if Qidian was abusing its power count by hiring fake reviewers as well as having them Leave 5 star reviews due to under the table deals. I have the same feeling with The King's Avatar reaching #1 in just a day it released. It is an ok novel (only hooked me for 200 or so chapters due to ratings) but its repetitiveness is horrendous.

Link himself tried to dabble in dark magic when he gets some evil relic but after he experience its ability to corrupt he decided not to do it anymore in the 200+ iirc and fire magic is feared and liked because of its destructive nature while i agree magic is neutral with enough information on the laws(haha sounds like cultivating) this book's world is a place where people have to experiment and fiddle the unknown to move forward and dark magic is avoided because it corrupts the users mind the longer they are exposed to it and tend to have permanent side effects. Maybe in the future link would find some way to learn dark magic without the side effects. It would be cool if link have darkness magic.
