They basically copy and pasted it, without ww permission. Total scumbags.

I edited that thing so many times that final sentence got clustered. I feel so embarrassed. Guys although I hate the fact CD and many other novels were moved that is not a reason to give them low reviews. The novels are amazing and i hope you enjoy reading them all as I have.

It wasn't stolen Qidian has the copyright. The authur wrote the story and, gave it to Qidian. Wuxiaworld claims that Qidian gave them permission but it was a oral agreement wish only fools would do. Plus even in that "oral" agreement Qidain never gave them the sole copyright wish means Qidain can put it any where they want. I think this is just a fallout because wuxiaworld misunderstood and, didn't have a written copy.

I wonder if just taking their translation is fine anyway though... But whatever. It doesn't concern me and I don't really care.

The translators have the option to move to Qidain plus they will get more pay here then in WW

Qidian doesn't own the rights to the English translations though, which is what they stole. Wuxiaworld bought the license to publish the English translations from qidian. The people who actually translated it to English own their English translation. Qidian are nothing but thieves.

The guy who translated Coiling Dragon is actually the guy who runs wuxiaworld and he most certainly didn't give qidian the right to post his translation.

I am sorry to rain on your parade but officially Qidain owns the foregin copyright. Which means Ren the owner of WW stole it from Qidain he can't translate it without Qidains permission which means Qidain has the right to post it here unless Ren wants to delete it from both WW and, Qidian.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but Ren paid Qidian a significant amount of money for the license to publish the translations.

Here let me use a example lets say that a company in Mexico translated Harry Potter into their Language without permission is that acceptable of course not thats not how it works. They can get sued.

You're ignoring the fact the qidian sold them the license to publish it. And the translators in your example could get sued only if they sold their translations without permission. For wuxiaworld and other sites like it, they didn't sell their translations. They translated for free (but accepted donations).

Lol indeed Qidian Sold them "a" license but they didn't give up their own license meaning Qidian wanted to dual host the whole time but WW mistunderstood. WW can host it but, they are going to have to deal with the dual host

Ok I admit he didn't steal I just read WW reponse before that I had only read Qidains but the agreement was misunderstood by WW they thought that Qidian sold them the "sole" right to have the novel but they were wrong

Actually not what happened, if you check done of the other comments, they post a link to one of the discussions that talks all about it. Qidian pulled some shady crap, there was no miscommunication. Qidian also filed a dmca against wuxiaworld to get the site shut down and then posted their translations the same day. Qidian is just going to do what they want because they are used to being a monopoly and they think they can outlast wuxiaworld through time and expensive lawyer fees attrition, which ren probably won't be able to afford.

I am only talking about offcial stuff here they did fill out a dmca but the reasons for this can be debated for hours and, since I don't know exactly what happened behind the scenes I won't say more.

If WW could actually win againest Qidain then Qidian would probably have to pay WW lawyer fees
