This book is an absolute must read! It's a modern take on wuxia, no frills, and no cliche or overused troupe. Romance is the best. It showed a step by step process, with just the right amount of sweetness. Female lead is actually a part of the story, not just an accessory where she pops out every 100 chapters or so.

Indeed it feels like a more rounded story instead of romance tossed in as a sexual afterthought. Everything has its time to develop. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for focused combat novels with no romance, but a MC with nothing to protect is kind of weird. Even something like ISSH had romance, but it was kind of weird. I felt like the attraction between the MC and his main love interest came out of no where at some point. I don't remember the point in the story, but I remember thinking wait what? At no point before this was there a mention of love or feelings of desire, and now he's seeking her out on that platform and acting like its been this way all along? Especially since their time together was almost nil. Lot of chapters in ISSH so maybe I missed some chapters where it showed a thought out process of this happening or I forgot about the potential chapter(s) since it took so long for all the chapters to get out lol But yeah, I prefer this story's take on romance compared to something like ISSH where it came out of no where.
