Ikr, I don't even know whether cthulhu was an actual word or not

Cthulhu comes from the Cthulhu mythos made by Lovecraft, it is the ancient elder God, which is evil! So it’s not an adjective but a being, a name. But then again I haven’t seen any signs of Cthulhu actually being a part of this novel besides the fact that a God with tentacles exists (Cthulhu is often depicted as having squid like tentacles)

It makes sense considering that love craft made most of his creatures slightly abstract to the point you could’ve been on drugs when making them. He also purposefully left the mythos open for changes by other authors so it can still do it changes based on what book you read.

The only thing he has in with Cthulhu, or any Lovecraftian mythos, is that he’s from the ocean and makes people go insane. That’s it. Cthulhu isn’t even a jellyfish, he’s a humanoid eldritch squid god lol. The point is that the story has very little to do with Lovecraftian themes or mythos, and the original author definitely did not name this novel “Cthulhu Gonfalon”. 邪神 means evil or wicked god, not Cthulhu. Just a poor choice of words.
