Review Detail of klaus_walpurgis in Pursuit of the Truth

"of all the vices that we have, sentiment is the one which keeps the world running" This is definitely not er gen's best work, from a critical perspective. But it is most definitely his most beautiful work till date. So much so that I would rank it just below Mao ni's nightfall and I Am Ink's grasping evil. This novel has transcended the bounds of xianxia, just like my former mentions. It is emotionally verbose to a very magnitude. Some of the underlying philosophies are such that each of us might relate to it some extent. Agreed, that this novel is not without er gen's use of his typical plot devices and grand scale deus ex machina, some of which might even be considered cliché, but nonetheless, it is a stellar novel. With a mind blowing world building, super emo characters and er gen's standard 'screw the heavens' tone of the protag throughout the story, this should be a definite read for the enlightened readers looking for something meaty, especially if you're looking for grit in a xianxia which is rarer than a blue moon
