Very bad translations. Translator has OMITTED a lot of stuff. Even changed the meaning of few lines! More info: http://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/sorcerers-journey-needs-better-translation.41215/ Good job Qidian International for such good quality translations.

LIKEI'm the translator of this novel. I admit that I've rearranged content of the original novel during the translation, but only trying to make it more acceptable and appealing to readers. From Chapter 57, I'm going to stick to the raw while translating and at the same time work on the old chapters.
Really? How is skipping important paragraphs ****** novel better? Please tell. Because I noticed you skipping paragraphs.
Thank you for your feedback. Skipping paragraphs, the two missing chapters and other stuff that you and other readers have pointed out are true. It's an iron-clad fact and I won't even bother to deny it. From readers' perspective, you'll accuse me of OMITTING stuff and thus depriving your chance of getting to know what's there in the raw completely, and if you feel that way, I'd say I'm sorry. Yet as a translator, I break the original's structure and piece them together so that the story will be, in my opinion, more natural and smooth, on the premise that the gists and hints are still there in the translated version. And, I delete stuff that doesn't concern the big picture of the story, like Howard Goldblatt did in translating Mo Yan's works. We're living in a world connected by the internet and one good point about it is that I know you and other readers' appeal once the chapters are out there on the internet. That's why Qidian and my editor have thus talked about my way of translating and decided to put ensuing faithfulness to the raw as the first and foremost principle.
I won't but I would continue after the previous chapters are edited. Honestly you should reply on NU forum so that people can understand your prospective. What I believe is that a translator should translate everything instead of ****** it a abridge version of what he/she believes is perfect.
The team has been editing the chapters ever since this little accident broke out, to show that we care for our readers. We believe we'll come out of this a better team, because we care enough to learn.
Appreciate that you are willing to listen to the readers and change the translation.
Not many translators on here give a good effort and listen to suggestions like you do. I thank you for listening and commend you for addressing the issues and taking it in stride as you continue. You didn't make excuses but a ****** explanation and I appreciate that.
I wanted to find a good excuse to make me look less embarrassed and "disgraced", but I thought it would be wrong and I thought being obstinate in the wrong direction would lead me to destruction! I love this job and I regard this whole thing as a bump on the road of presenting a great novel to you guys. So why bother to make excuses while I can learn to do a better job?!
Great answer and thank you sir

That's the spirit . Anyway , this novel has great potential , translation is also near perfect but the sad part is lack of more regular chapter . I know translation is tough , consumes time ...hope there more regular chapter. Thank for your efforts
Is the novel dropped?
Don't push your self too much just because some people doesn't like the way you do things, and just try to find a 'harmony' between your own style that you enjoy to translate and what we like to read(though it may be difficult), good luck🤗
The negative comments are really giving me a hard time these days. As I was working on other tasks and even when I hang out with friends, I could still be thinking about this job. I once shared my feeling as a web-novel translator with a friend. It was like starting a business and you'll never get the time of your own.~~~~Forget about the complaints, I'm having fun and am truly honored from "propagating Chinese culture". Thank you for your understanding. Let's keep up the good work.
