The original version, copied by WMW's author, The Plagiarist. The MCs are similar in that they are both self-centered, but WW's MC is at least better to the people who helped him along the way, as opposed to WMW's MC who abandons people once they're no longer useful to him.

LIKEYep. Also unfortunate WMW got translated first. Only adds to the confusion.
I like the one from WMW more. My biggest problem with the Mc from WMW is his cold personality and lack of human emotions and the Mc from this novel is better in this hindsight. Here I can feel together with the Mc. However the Mc from this novel is a genius researcher and I like his ascetic behaviour, but in dangerous situations he sometimes behaves just... AAAHHHHH!!!! I bet would there be a red button with 'self destruction, destoying universe' written on it, he would press it to test its effects.
Protip: Try searching for "WMW" on this website. Or, if you want to live a little dangerously, try searching for "WMW novel by The Plagiarist" in your preferred search engine.
Also... It's literally mentioned in the synopsis of this novel, thanks to the confusion people have over which novel came first (WW) and which one is the copy (WMW).
It's mentioned in the synopsis of the novel. "P.S. This has become a serious problem so I have to put it in the synopsis: First, I would like to thank everyone who spends their time reading this book. Second, I just want to say that this is not a WMW (Warlock of the Magus World) copy. TWW finished two years before WMW started. "
Or was your question regarding the author's name? "The Plagiarist" is the actual name the author used when he wrote WMW. The Plagiarist has come out with a few novels since. I believe most are based on premises borrowed from other works. The one he wrote after WMW was, for certain.
