Let’s skip the BS and cut to the chase: You must be wondering, why should you read this fanfic? What's so special about it that among all the fanfics of ShadowSlave on the entire internet, you should choose this one? Your reading time is precious to you. Well, here’s why: This is not the single best fanfic of ShadowSlave of all time, but this is one of the most unique ones, for damn sure. Among all the fanfics of SS you will ever find, there are 40% regression fanfics, 40% smut fanfics, and 20% self-insert storylines (except for NobleQueenBee's, which is based on a side character). This one falls under the regression category, BUT here’s what it does differently from all the others of the same class: it has a psychological and realistic take on regression. All other SS fanfic writers have brushed off the weight, the burden of regression as just a plot mechanic. They don’t portray the potential after-effects that traveling back in time can have on Sunny’s mind, the psychological burden, the trauma of regression, the regrets of the past which failed to save the loved ones, and the fear of the future which induces nightmares. As of this date, I have only found this aspect in this fanfic, ShadowSlave: Chain Breaker. Don’t be put off if you find the quality of the initial chapters to be normal, because the writing quality is progressively increasing. Don’t judge too early; give it a chance. The other satisfying development is the wild way in which Sunny’s aspect is replaced after regression. Read ahead to find out.
