This is one of my favorite novels, and one that I read daily, and hear is my honest feelings for anyone wondering whether to read it or not.
Writing quality: I read up to the latest update, up to chapter 269, and I can guarantee that the story in broad shape is planned out, and there are no plot holes or anything jarring, the way the author approaches the describing the environment and the actions of the protagonist and the actions of the other characters is pretty clear, so you don't have to wonder how exactly he did it, or what the environment looks like, so you can paint a clear picture in your mind as you read it.
story development: the story starts off shortly before where it gets interesting, by a few chapters so you know how he is in his current state, and you don't need to really wait for the story to officially kick off, and things progress steadily from there, no obvious fillers, nothing that feels unnecessary or crammed in there, and no obvious use of plot armor, and the author pays enough attention to the world around so you understand the MC's motivations and picture what he probably will do next, ALSO, something important from my point of view, is the power of the MC and how he grows, and it is one of my favorite parts of the novel, the powers are original, but clear and understandable, and the way they react with each other and how the characters utilize them is great, some use them in a straight forward manner, and some use them in interesting ways, and some get used against their own users for other's benefits (do note that all the previous uses are not only for combat, but for all aspects in life).
character Design: the designs are unique for the main character(s? (there is a character that is always with the MC if you are wondering why I put a question mark there)) and it is described to the reader clearly at the beginning or whenever it changes (he is a shape shifter), as for his personality, he is selfish and indifferent, and I don't mean he is a psychopath that wants to kill, no, he is just indifferent to the suffering of the others and has no qualms about exploiting them, or their weakness no matter what to get what he wants, which brings me to the thing that is his main desire, power, power to survive and do as he wishes (he likes his freedom a lot), he takes no pleasure in killing and murder, he does like a good fight, mostly adrenaline, but he is not a battle manic, and he avoids fights that are not in his favor unless he can't, as for the intelligence of the MC, it is Average or slightly above, you don't have to worry about the MC doing stupid things unless there is information that he is lacking, and you don't have to worry about him doing "genius" level stuff that seems ridiculous, his actions are reasonable and you can understand his line of thought without feeling that he is missing something obvious, also, don't worry about love or stuff like that, MC has no interest in that at all, and you can confidently expect no such thing, also, genders are equal in front of power.
as for the characters he interacts with, the author first describes the look and details of the characters, then goes about telling the story, and you can get a general sense of their mannerisms and well, character, at least for the important ones, so you can understand their actions.
now onto why I only gave four out of five stars for Character design, it is because there is something that there is a choice that the MC hesitates, or refuses to take (don't worry it's an important plot point), and I, personally just want the MC to take it, even though I know that it's very much in line for the MC's character to do these, but I, personally, just want the MC to take it, but I will say this, you don't need to worry about this clogging up the story or being present too much, just power on through a little and you'll get back to the fun parts.
updating stability: VERY STABLE, you can expect a new chapter everyday, sometimes even two.
World background: this is something that the author plays attention to, it is introduced gradually and as the MC learns or interacts with them (MC had a confined childhood so he learns quite a bit as he grows and his reactions are satisfying), so you don't need to brace yourself for chapters of world introduction or a pre chapter one explanation,
though I will say it's best to just read the novel, the author does a WAY better job of laying it out than me.
here is the basic premise, this story takes place(mostly) on AN earth that has rifts open on it and meshes things from other worlds with the place where the rift opened, creating very unique environments, and sometimes creating malformed creatures and rarely spewing out creatures, but does corrupt surrounding creatures and humans (the story mainly takes place in a city where these rifts are stopped from opening), there are also something like trials that are forced onto the humans, they form 100 trials they have to pass to become demigods, the first 10 are just like harmless competitions (the MC takes the violent route for higher payout in power) that most people choose to stick to, but are still forced to participate in, as for those floors above, they are proper trials that you can't quit, also, every single person has a power, not all are unique, though some of them are based on the power rating, and some are useless, some are overpowered IN their league.
Extra note: the author is VERY active in the comments, especially on the new chapters, so if you ask a question or have something you are curious about or don't understand, ask in the comments, and you are likely to receive a response, though it might take a little while on the old chapters.
that is pretty much all my thoughts about it, again, it's one of my favorites that I read everyday, if you read this far, then you probably are interested in this novel, go read it, you'll probably like it.
