I sometimes do read BL series. However, I have a preference for lighter, more vanilla stories rather than darker themes. When I came across this novel, I gave it a try. After trying it, I also explored other Omegaverse novels. I have to admit, this one is something different. It really stands apart in how it’s written and presented. World-Building (7 out of 10) I’d rate the world-building a 7 out of 10. Tristan works at a club, and while I understand this setting, the portrayal of his job over these three chapters felt underdeveloped. It could have been explored better—perhaps with more details about where the club was located, like downtown or a specific district. This would have helped expand the world around Tristan. That said, Tristan himself is introduced well, and so are the characters around him. The world-building does lay a solid foundation, but there’s room for further branching and depth in future chapters. Character Development (8 out of 10) Tristan has a traumatized childhood, which clearly influences his actions and mindset. However, throughout the chapters, it's evident that he develops emotionally and mentally. His sense of responsibility is one of his defining traits—he takes on the burden of those around him and strives to protect them. This not only drives Tristan’s growth but also shapes the development of the characters around him. The side characters, while not explored in great depth, are far from two-dimensional. They don’t merely exist to serve Tristan’s story; they stand on their own. Each is introduced in a way that makes them feel relevant to the plot without being overused. They have their own motivations and provide meaningful interactions with Tristan, adding depth to the overall narrative. Pacing (8 out of 10) The pacing is solid but slightly inconsistent. Some parts feel faster, while others are a bit slower. While this fluctuation exists, it doesn’t significantly impact the story. Pacing is done well overall, but there’s room for refinement to create a more even flow throughout the narrative. Narration (10 out of 10) I have to give narration a perfect 10 out of 10. Every story has its own style of narration, and this one uses a first-person point of view, making us see the world through Tristan's eyes. The challenge with this approach is that many authors struggle to execute it well. Often, the story becomes too focused on the main character, leaving little room to explore the world beyond their perspective. However, this story does something unique—it blends first-person narration with a slight shift in perspective. Although the story primarily follows Tristan’s point of view, it occasionally steps away from that and then returns, offering a more rounded experience without losing the intimacy of the first-person style. This mix makes the narration stand out and adds depth to the storytelling. Despite my personal dislike for this kind of narration, because many authors can’t execute it properly, this story was done exceptionally well. In fact, I was able to reach 24 chapters, which speaks volumes about how well the narration is executed. Story Development (7 out of 10) This story has a dark tone, giving off dystopian vibes where certain groups are oppressed, like alphas oppressing omegas. While I don’t fully understand the theme, it’s important to address it. Morality within the story is questionable—it makes readers reflect on what’s happening, but they’re compelled to keep reading. Tristan, in particular, is shaped by the darker side of society, growing through despair and sorrow, while others may have been raised in more hopeful circumstances. Despite this, we also see his resilience—he strives and develops even within the dark side, which makes his character arc compelling. This aspect of the story is well executed. So, why do I rate it 7 out of 10? Despite its good aspects, I’m only at chapter 24, so I can’t rate it higher or lower at this point. The story shows potential, but I need more to form a clearer judgment. Conclusion: Everything is fine with this book, except for the cover page—it could have been done better. But other than that, I have to say, for those who love Omegaverse stories, this one is definitely worth a read. It brings something new to the table. What sets it apart is that it features a perfectly bred omega—a perfect omega, perhaps. Another thing is that my understanding of omegas, alphas, and betas comes from werewolf lore, so seeing this take on the concept surprised me. I didn’t even know such a thing existed. After trying this story, I also explored other Omegaverse novels to see how they work. Although I still don’t understand the concept fully—it’s still quite confusing, and I can’t make sense of how it works—it defies the laws of biology. But this story, despite being an Omegaverse story, stands out. It’s not your typical Omegaverse narrative. So, if you’re interested, give it a try and see whether you like it or not. Overall, it’s a good read.

From CEO to Concubine

Yan Zheyun was born and bred to be a winner. His parents were on the Forbes’ List, he was the valedictorian of his graduating class at the top university in the country, and the icing on the cake was being voted ‘school grass’ four years in a row by his peers. And now, at just twenty-five, Yan Zheyun was the proud chairman and CEO of his very own tech company. But what should have been the happiest day of his life turned into the worst when he heard a strange robotic voice while crossing the road for coffee, just because he couldn’t wait for his secretary to return from the photocopying room. [BUG REPORT #193842347: OTHERWORLD SOUL DETECTED. INITIATING DEPORTATION SEQUENCE.] And then he died. In a very boring, very run-of-the-mill car accident. …except maybe he didn’t. The first thing Yan Zheyun thought after he opened his eyes and found himself in a bedroom that looked like the set of one of those inner palace dramas was: Wow, coffee wasn’t worth it. The second thing he thought after he realised he was now in a historical BL novel and had transmigrated into the body of a tragic beauty who was (about to be) used and abused by his multiple lovers was: I must have opened my eyes with the wrong technique, let me try again…nope, still here. Well. F**k. From CEO to lowly slave, Yan Zheyun couldn’t believe his luck. Stuck in a foreign world and surrounded by crazy tops (respectively A.K.A ‘The Childhood Friend’, ‘The General’s Son’, ‘The Crown Prince’, ‘Some Other Prince’, ‘That Creepy Duke’ etc.), Yan Zheyun realised that his one day’s experience as CEO had not prepared him adequately for this new life of misery. But he wasn’t the sort to give up without a fight so…Yan Zheyun resolutely made up his mind to stay away from the terrifying romantic plot line, try and write himself a new political plot line, and while at it, hug some big thighs, curry some favour with the powerful. And in a dynastic monarchy, whose thighs would be a better choice for hugging than the emperor himself? Liu Yao: …This Sovereign permits you to hug other parts too. Pairing: - This-Sovereign-Looks-Stern-But-Is-Secretly-Kind!Emperor Top VS I-Look-Like-A-Rabbit-But-I’m-Secretly-A-Fox!Slave Bottom - NOT harem, entire story is 1v1 Warnings: - This novel deals with some heavy subject matter that arises as a result of slavery and a caste system. I have added trigger warnings where relevant but just a heads up, the scumbags are called scumbags for a reason! Updates: 21:00 GMT+8 Illustrated By: HAZHE

Second Take On Romance - The A-List Actor Wants Me

One sunny day, Shen Jingwei, a Z-list actor, received an opportunity to attend an open-call audition the very next day. It was for the role of an antagonist in a new BL C-Drama, "Dance Of The Dragons", which was adapted from a novel of the same title. He agreed to join the audition due to several factors, among which his manager's threat to jump off the 20th floor, his dire need for money, and also the fact that his rank in the film industry could not go any lower. One look at the panel of judges made him want to turn on his heel to leave, but it was all too late. Because who would expect the poor Z-List actor to meet his mortal enemy/ex-boyfriend, Yan Renzhong, the A-List Actor responsible for his decline long before he even learned how to fly? ------------------ "You and I... are playing a couple of lovers, who will go on to get married and have children with each other." Shen Jingwei could sense blood coming up his throat. What was the point of saying it out loud, again? "Yes," he forced himself to agree nonetheless. Yan Renzhong pinned him with a stare. "We have unresolved issues from the past. I hope you won't let them affect your and my performance in the drama. Act the professional you are supposed to be." "..." "And don't call me 'Emperor Yan' anymore." Yan Renzhong left after delivering one blow after another, not even waiting to see if Shen Jingwei succumbed to his injuries or not. What? Whattt? Whattttttttt?

(BL) The Villain wants a Divorce!

It always starts with an accident. That’s how all these stories go. One moment, you’re minding your own business, and the next, you wake up in someone else’s body. For Caspian, his accident started earlier than he even knew. Maybe it began when his sister got him into romance novels? Or when he started really sympathizing with the villains at the ends of books? He’d never know. It was too late to worry about it now. For now, he had to find a way to fix this nightmare, or rehabilitate his image, all while trying to free himself from the fate set out for him. All because of the damn "gods" who he'd cut a deal with. These were the only two options he had available, and he wasn’t sure he could succeed at either. The man he had taken over for had been…a true piece of work. And the secret villain of the book he had been reading before he passed. It had been a harem novel. A reverse harem novel. He was trapped in a huge ass CASTLE with a bunch of men who hated him because he was taking affection and time away from their shared wife. All Cass wanted to do was be a good person, not mess around with this poor woman and her far too handsome husbands. But why would no one leave him alone? Was he too suspicious? And why, after going out of his way to avoid them like they had asked, did they keep pestering him? And where did the heroine go? How was he going to manage three, handsome men without the heroine?
