Okay, so this is my first time writing a review on Webnovel. I usually just read and move on, but I noticed this fanfic doesn’t have that many reviews, which is honestly a crime because it’s really good! I’ve been following this story since before it even reached 100 chapters, and I just gotta say, this one’s a hidden gem.
Here’s why I personally enjoy it:
1. The writing’s actually solid. 🤌
It’s easy to read, not messy or confusing, and flows well. It’s not super polished, but it doesn’t need to be, it does the job and keeps me hooked.
2. The characters feel realistic, especially with how they react to Furuya being super OP.🫶(SPOILER, YOU CAN SKIP)
What I liked is how it didn’t just show them instantly accepting that a first-year was suddenly stronger than everyone else and even becoming the ace. At first, you can really feel the resistance, they were against it, frustrated, and couldn’t accept it right away. Which is real. I mean, who wouldn’t feel that way if someone younger just came in and outshined everyone? But the way they eventually started to accept him and adjust their mindset was also done really well. It made the growth of the team dynamic more natural.
3. Daily updates!!🫡
This part makes me so happy. I don’t have to wait weeks to find out what happens next. The author’s consistent too, like they really care about finishing the story properly. Respect.
4. Love the way other characters (especially Sawamura) are handled.👏
Most fics just make Sawamura super insecure once the MC shows up, but not here. They still see each other as rivals, and it makes the dynamic way more interesting. Plus, the other players actually have depth. They’re not just background noise.
5. The matches are fire.🔥
They’re exciting, well-written, and sometimes I even end up rooting for the other team, just like in the anime. It has that same kind of hype.
⸻
That said, I do have a few things I’d suggest:
• The pacing gets a little repetitive sometimes. It feels like it’s always a match, then some quick meeting or chat, then another match again. I’d love to see more character interactions outside the games—like how they’re thinking, bonding, or maybe even clashing when they’re not on the field. It’d add more flavor.
• Furuya being OP is cool and all, but I wish we got more explanation in the earlier chapters. Like yeah, he trained in his old school, but the jump in skill is kinda crazy. That’s why I appreciated the recent chapters (past 250)—he’s actually showing a bit of struggle now, which makes it more interesting, especially since he’s just 16.
• One last thing that’s been bugging me (in a good way, I guess): I keep questioning if the MC is a transmigrator? He was super set on getting into Seidou and acted weirdly familiar when he first met Sawamura. I thought he knew the original story, but then there are times when he seems genuinely confused. So I’m still unsure if he is or not. Would love if the author clarified that more down the line.
Anyway, this fanfic really deserves more love. The author’s clearly putting in the work, and it shows. If you’re thinking about reading it, do it, you won’t regret it.👌
