This is an absolutely phenomenal example of a fanfiction. If all you're looking for is some reassurances that this isn't bad, then here it is, go read this. The Writing Quality is great. I haven't had any problem with reading and keeping up with the thought processes of the characters. The voices of everyone is clear and the reading process is enjoyable. The Stability of Updates has been really good for the last couple of day but even if we look at the lifetime of the fiction, 50-odd chapters in 4 months is more than respectable for this level of quality. The Story Development is just the right mixture of what I expected and twists and turns that I didn't expect. Nothing was so strange that I couldn't think back on a previous plot point or detail and fail to figure out how the characters got to this point. The Author really showcases a level of detail and attention to this story that is really rare to see. The Character Design is good. I personally enjoy it a lot and this is a harry potter fanfiction so a lot of the character design is just sort of filling out characters that were in the original work. It is still really fun and the author does make an effort to showcase more original characters and explore the people in this world. A lot of the character design also ties back in to the world background and how the setting treats powerful wizards and witches. One of my favorite aspects is how the author manages to weave together the feeling of having a powerful and dynamic protagonist with a background of (relatively) unimportant and static characters. I've seen a lot of people try to get that sort of dichotomy to work but this is definitely one of the better examples I have seen. The World Background is great. The AU Harry Potter-verse that this is set in is delightful. I spend a significant amount of time thinking about the world and how cool it is. It is so much more developed and well thought out than I've seen before. It also really respects a lot of the original settings that I tend to ignore in other works. Here the wand is a game-changer as a magic-casting tool and the subtle ways that the author showcases how much better using a wand makes a wizard really sells the world to me. There's so much more than that going on of course. But you should really check it out for yourself. Overall, this is an exemplar of the fanfiction genre. I really enjoy this story and I'm definitely going to waiting for more updates to this going forward.
