(dropped after chapter 36) First the good things. The writing quality is really high with barely any spelling or grammar mistakes. Some sentences are a little confusing to read though. But thats really only nitpicking. The world building is also good. No exaggerated numbers or power levels. It all feels very grounded and natural. There is no forced "level" trope so thats always a plus. The academy is interesting and seems somewhat inspired by hogwards. Now onto the negatives. At least up to chapter 35 there is no red line to follow through the story. No overarcing sense of urgency, no villain to be defeated, no conflict to be handeled. This would be fine if the characters would be more interesting and 3 dimensional. But they are not. Most side characters feel the same and dont really have any defining traits. We briefly get introduced to characters, just for them to not really hold any relevance to the story and be an afterthought in the next chapter. The main character is sadly no exception. After reading over 30 chapters i still have no idea about the main characters likes or dislikes, hobbies, interests, or even underlying character. He is just kind of good at everything, funny when he needs to be, and sociable enough to get along with everybody. He doesnt have any appearant flaws, and his only motivation for trying to get stronger is to avoid having to work in a mine in his hometown. This makes the entire story feel incredably flat, "floaty", and makes it hard to be invested in anything that happens. I am also still a little unsure as to what this novel actually wants to be. Its certainly not really an "action" novel. Because even though there is action, its usually really short and without any stakes. Its not really a slice of live novel either, due to the lack of conflict, drama, or character building. The beginning seemed really promising and had me looking forward to what possible conflicts and story threads would arise at the academy. But nothing ever did. We just follow the main character slowly getting stronger without any setbacks or challenges, rivals, or conflicts. I quickly lost interest after about 20 chapters and decided to drop the novel after chapter 35 or so. If any of my criticism gets resolved in later chapters feel free to let my know and i might give it another try.

Felt the same way. It’s like there is no story to be told. The interactions are generic. The side characters don’t bring anything useful or entertaining. There is no story development, only the Mc doing his exercises with random dialogues here and there … dropped at ch. 24
