The novel is excellent, and has hallmarks of what I enjoy in my stories: political intrigue, war, adventure. Furthermore, the author makes cultivation seem grounded and realistic. The powers people hold and the importance of the common folk and low-ranking warriors. They miss the intricacies of skills and tactics and strategy. That said, I was worried for a moment. I absolutely abhor control skills. And for a bit, I thought the novel would be ruined. Anything that takes away someone’s freedom, is a blight. But, the way the author employs the skills don’t ruin the story. However, I’d say there are some pacing issues. Often, I must say the novel is too slow, and rarely, sometimes too fast. I actually skipped the first 4 chapters outright. Didnt read. The story doesn’t begin until chapter 5. And then there are chapter after chapter of daily things that are at times interesting but at times cumbersome. And I fear at times the author forgets that they need to advance the plot. I can’t go 1/4th of the year with the MC fighting one war. If the plot feels like it’s moving, the story doesn’t feel slow. And there should be purpose to a chapter. When I finish reading a chapter, I should feel as if there was a purpose to it. Sometimes, I’m like, “meh”. In the end, I’m enjoying myself. I hope the novel continues, but I also hope in the future the author tightens up the storytelling.

From being a thug type of gangster to being born into a historic eastern fantasy type of world, the main character's life completely turned 180° lol, I bet it's gonna be fun to See his journey and how he handles his powers. Sure gonna finish this story as more chapters comes out

wasn't much of a fan of this genre...recently started reading this genre and I clicked on this book randomly...now I'm addicted to this book...the slow story development makes me feel like I'm growing along with the main character... I'm looking forward to more chapters!!

Something I appreciate about this book is the writing style, it’s different and refreshing compared to normal novels on Webnovel. Though the novel so far is somewhat slow, I enjoy the build up and accumulation of the main character. I hope the author keeps writing, as I’ve grown to really enjoy this book.

I really appreciate the level of detail and care put into this story by the author. This novel is not another cliche ridden, self fulfillment fantasy, but rather a carefully crafted, work of art. Some may consider it slow, but I love that the author takes the time to carefully build this novel, line upon line, allowing the readers to comfortably sink in to the author's world. I can't think of another original work in webnovel I'd rather read than this. Great job
