As the TL said, if you like Tang San or nuanced perspectives in general, this novel won't be enjoyable. Tang San isn't just an antagonist here; he's a pure villain and he acts like it. There's no fairness, necessity, or the like. Wulin's character is also nasty here. He's not the super nice kid that existed in the main story. He's just a lustful antagonist who wants to take the heroine against her will with his dad's forceful hand. Outside of that, it's a power trip story for the MC.

LIKEThere's a difference between a tougher version of a main character and the vile excuse of a human being that's laid out in this story.
Yamette_Kutasai:The Tang Wulin in canon has different experience than this fanfic's Wulin, so it's not surprising he is darker compared to canon. Not to mention the canon Wulin has a smooth ride, so it is no wonder he maintained his naivety and innocence.
??? Losing to someone won't always results in tougher MC. That kind of thinking only exists in shounen-like manga 😂 Also, the canon is narrated from Wulin's perspective, so ofc it would never look as vile as when it was narrated from another's perspective. It's similar to Naruto's view that never look Hiruzen as vile.
