Good I'll give you a few suggestions so you can work on your dream story first understand the world the plot and everything about it then creates your main character be it a male or female character you could base them off any fictional character or you can base him off any real people, for example, the main character is called Alex he was a genius high school student that got isekaied and was then thrown into the world of the walking dead by understanding the world you could make plot twists like the main character being related to Rick or Maggie, for example, them being cousins or siblings stuff like that you could also do many things and try to keep stuff realistic since not a lot of people would like to read about a guy getting sent to the world and starts to speedrun everything kill all the walkers with a single punch or having a minigun and quickly has kids with the main heroine

Hmm, I'm not sure you could look at some Walking Dead fanfictions that you liked and take inspiration from them to get a better understanding on how to make and insert the oc in the story
