Imma be honest was hoping for a good story with someone who wielded great power and even if not enjoying being in his position worked hard or such or reluctantly cared. What it is atm anyway is a person who has been enslaved to his system and is fighting it but tbh the system is what killed my enthusiasm for the story

Valid, though it is too early for Alex to care enough yet and for it to turn into the story you were hoping for. Alex's position, opinion and 'Enslavement' by the System will be getting drastic changes in the coming 1-2 arcs.
