It could be okay, IF there were NO wishes. You could give the MC the exact same powers and world but not wishes. A human that asked for this trash powers (compared to what else is possible) and that horrible world is a moron. I physically cannot read about such a completely stupid person, I know that he survives due to plot armor. Perception is everything: MC making bad wishes (any wishes really, since many readers could come up with better things)=Stupid. MC getting bad powers and world (from reader perspective)=MC has to deal with it and do his best=good!.

Honestly, I totally understand you. It's literally more interesting if you just put him in the world with Sure, everyone follows their interests, but I doubt their interests lie in having dragon slayer magic.

Now, dragon slayer or God slayer magic is OP. You literally eat an item to replenish your energy, as long as it's not your own. Magic slayer would be useful, if he could absorb elements like any dragon slayer that isn't just magic.
