The story started out well. The MC was getting things done. Even though it’s a system Nov, he had to work for almost everything to level-up. The development became exciting at 100+ chaps. However, if you’re a villain mc reader, I can confirm he ain’t one. He is an anti-hero at best. The MC also questions his morals on almost every raid he does despite, having a goal of gaining power. His edge lord barometer shot up once a FC was introduced. The MC does treasure her to the point of sacrificing his safety to save her. I was enjoy the read until that point. On the other hand, if you overlook my cons, it should be a decent read

LIKEI think that’s a fair and balanced review. I’m glad to hear that you liked the progression with the story, the fact that Vol had to work for what he had. I think I would use that same point to describe Vol’s villainy. He’s most definitely not a good guy, in any capacity. I think the introduction of a character like Penelope is exactly the sort of thing that propels Vol’s villainy further. Around the chapter when Vol decides to save Penelope is the same arc in which Vol dives even deeper into the devilish raider that he is. Just like he had to work for progress in his strength, he had to work for progress in his psychological state. Anyone who immediately jumps to being the most evil of villains probably has a mental illness. There’s a brief interlude where Vol is fighting his morality, prodded on by the introduction of this innocent character, and he arrives even more villainous for it. I definitely understand your reaction, and I take your point – but I do think the end result is far more interesting. Who Vol becomes is far more understandable. His evil deeds have far more weight to them, and he’s able to get even stronger still.
