Every author I ask has that same delusional answer. I have read books of all genre for 5 years so take it as a passer bys advice your the author whether your story is ruined or not doesn't concern me except if it's good I will stick around and recommend you to my server. My only purpose was to tell you that putting romance in novels ruins them unless your writing a urban slice of life you will have plenty of relationships with side characters the fact you say that "romance" that will be as small as a grain will be included and cope it up at a realistic relationship is beyond my understanding. Best of luck to you I mean your work no harm.

MC does get along with woman but he mostly uses them for his benefit. It sound messed up but thats how he is. i hope that asnwers you're question :)
