honestly I didn't like it, I think the MC had everything on a plate in the first 3 chapters and I don't feel any challenge at all that involves me in the plot...

LIKEDaoistGatsu973:If this is your only argument, you are the one misguided here. Good writing, as you mention, is highly subjective and varies depending on the reader's perspective and preferences. Therefore, claiming that someone doesn't understand what good writing is, is both foolish and presumptuous, as your viewpoint is not unilateral.
DaoistGatsu973:It is reasonable to expect this because it is fundamentally the role of an MC. Otherwise, they wouldn't be considered an MC, but rather a supporting character, like you and me, who constantly have to fight for what they want.

Listen, I am passionate about literature, especially fiction novels. I have a particular interest in all variations of the genre, except for those that do not excite me. Narratives that focus on challenges that prompt the protagonist to overcome various difficulties attract me as much as those where the protagonist effortlessly succeeds. Regardless of the variation, what interests me above all is the immersion in these fictional worlds: their ability to captivate, the charisma of the protagonist, the stimulating obstacles (whether present or absent), the gradual evolution of the protagonist, and the satisfaction provided by the final resolution accompanied by an appealing reward. Well-structured storytelling, accompanied by intriguing secondary characters, pleasant writing style, deep themes, and a touch of originality and creativity, are also important (but not mandatory) criteria. In other words, whether a story presents a protagonist with exceptional skills, stimulating obstacles, a consistent progression punctuated by rewarding moments, or simply a pleasant balance between ease and tension, all of these fully meet my expectations.
