The protagonist is an ordinary person with no abilities, no future knowledge, nothing interesting or unique about him. He cries and runs away to avoid getting married, finds the cold beauty, but still knows nothing, does not have a goal, and the story is boring and pointless.

While some of this is true. MC is truly unique in the fact he is western character with modern western values. For American and European general populace, arranged marriage and to a minor, is seen very backwards and disgusting. so it makes perfect sense for him to not want to marry a unknown child, even if she is called a "cold beauty". also normal guy usually doesn't have super abilities. Also would be surprised if 1/1000 person has even heard of xianxia cultivation, even less of ATG.
