It's pretty rare to see a fanfic centered around Oldeus, but it's always nice to see. The story is pretty good; the only major issue with the story, in my opinion, is Rudy's character. In the Oldeus timeline, Rudeus suffers horrific trauma after horrific trauma and becomes a depressed, homicidal, womanizing alcoholic (albeit a very powerful alcoholic) that's hellbent on revenge and becoming stronger. So, you'd expect after he time travels these things would deeply affect him, but said events feel to have little impact on his character. That being said, the story isn't finished, and the author may very well be planning to address this concern. On a more positive note, in almost everything else I can think of, the author does very well, especially in his writing of Paul and Rudy's interactions. Sometimes it honestly feels like how Rifujin would write the two.

LIKEI think the reason why it has little impact because Rudeus is tempting to become a better person and redeem himself in specific ways. Besides, despite the world not having age restriction on alcohol. I highly doubt Rudeus is stupid enough get wasted on booze and affect his younger body and health. When he could use that energy to get stronger in his magic skills like healing, gravity magic and disabling magic. So he doesn’t run the risk of losing his family again. That’s the whole purpose of the story being about Rudy getting a second chance.
you don't understand Old Rudeus had major ptsd and survivor's guilt. Even reborn he should've had nightmares about his love ones death and space out a lot. The early chapters should've showed it but didn't you don't magically get better from remembering how your loved ones died in your arms the sacrifices they made for Rudy. Over all this feels like the Cannon Rudy who died of old age surrounded by his family

I think I understand why the author didn’t implemented Old Rudeus’s nightmares and daydreaming about his previous life traumas because the author was still a novice in writing fanfiction stories.
