Also I agree that the mc is idealistic. That’s one of his big character traits. However being idealistic doesn’t mean he is a simp. He just treats people with kindness and won’t force Rebecca into a relationship if it makes her unhappy. Obviously this is a romance story, so she does end up falling for him and with mutual feelings, they both equally put in effect to make the other happy. That’s what makes the later parts of the story fun. They both care for each other a lot and are very lovey dovey.

If the king of that country does not have his men infiltrated in his staf or household , that is a monarch that won't rule for long. The mc own people should be well trained as well an pick up on such a big personality change. (poison, mind control ,magic body attraction, strange animals or plants with pheromones) all his changes during his wedding. Who is to say he was not drugged by a guest before or during the wedding.

Just because this story is set in a fantasy world doesn’t mean it is the same as various fantasy worlds you have read. Early on in the story, the hard magic system is introduced which is the only type of magic that is known in this world. The only one you listed that I think is possible is being drugged, but what drug makes you have a completely different personality and no other side effects? The one actual thing people might think is the one I brought up in the story, which is losing your memory. But Nick tries his best to avoid that suspicion and even if they do it is only a problem until he can get strong enough with his lightning powers to defend himself like the story stated. Maybe I can have more people question him in the story, but there is literally no way for anyone to outright prove he is a different person. Maybe an advanced wind mage could listen in on a conversation between Nick and Becca talking about his original world to create an interesting story line.

your completely ignoring spys moles informants all of these do not require magic. royalty and nobles in general are always looking for that edge to try and get more power and benefits. They are not above using understand methods. New discovers are made everyday with pharmaceutical (medicine, drugs) all noble and there retainer know this, most should have something like this hidden and read to use

I guess you are right, but I never envisioned the kingdom to have much spy activity. That’s not really what the story is all about. I rather focus on the romance, recruiting of allies, and bringing products from his orginial world. And again, if there are spies, they would just report that the Duke is acting differently since getting married, which could be explained in a multitude of ways that aren’t a big deal. Like the story given to all the servants in the Duke’s manor is that his first night with his new wife was so good that his personality did a 180 to make her agree to be with him more lol
