Honestly I don’t think this is 1 star but I’ve gotta bring this average down because of all the idiots giving stories 5 stars without even reading them. The writing and characters are aggressively mediocre, the character dialogue is incredibly jarring because of how modern it is instead of being written in period style given the medieval fantasy setting, and the characters themselves behave so completely OOC compared to their canon selves with zero explanation or reason why the author may as well change their names and make entirely new characters with how little they resemble who they are supposed to be. The author also doesn’t seem to know much about the specifics of the characters in the series given that it takes place 5 years before Eragon yet for some reason Arya is chilling in Ellesmera having dinner with her mother despite her basically being in self-imposed exile for close to a century. I haven’t read the books since the final book released and I still know that fairly pivotal character point from Eldest. The time skips basically gloss over any kind of exposition or explanation of what happened during that time with a one sentence “MC learnt this”. 3 stars, maximum.
