It's not that bad. Some people from Asia will eat cat or dog, and in some parts of the world at one point it became popular to eat tarantulas. Yes, giant spiders. Or some people even eat clay (irl Deidora - Naruto). Mind you, most people would be willing to eat just about anything edible - even other humans - if they were starving to death.
I don't know why they're complaining about the French. All Chinese buffets in the south have frogs legs and they're delicious! And now I'm hungry. -_-
