The story started of good. It was interesting, and I kept wanting more. Until he developed this 'I need to hide it' concept. The whole thing suddenly became so cringe and that not even the worst part. The plot armour thickened over time, to the point that it annoyed the f out of me.

Why would he tell the whole world his strengths? Shouldn’t it be considered a plus when a protagonist doesn’t go around fighting everyone and announcing his strength, since it’s extremely stupid most of the time and those protagonists almost always get saved by some type of plotarmor.

Opinions. I definitely agree that it’ extremely boring to read about a MC that hides away constantly. Though, like I said everyone has their opinion

No. It isn't a plus. It's the default cowardly mentality of laying low to avoid potential trouble. But you can also see it as someone spineless who will never have amounted to anything if this wasn't a novel. Do you think the people with great accomplishments throughout history were all cowards afraid of standing out? No, most certainly not. It's boring to read about a masochist who revels in being insulted and abused, because he has some sort of fetish for pretending to be weak and then slapping faces after he has enjoyed enough abuse. It's not smart to be a coward. In fact, 90% of all the problems that show up in novels stem from the protagonist hiding and lying, which seems to be the go-to character trait for a Chinese MC. He puts in so much effort to avoid trouble, which is why he always ends up in trouble in the first place, because people will always target and abuse the weak. Guess what happens when protagonists pretend to be weak...?
