really? I dislike ocs inserted into works as the mc..... at least the inserted into the mc gives you the mc but with a different personality.

thus its basically oc but worse

I mean, you can at least argue fate in regards to mine. most fics with ocs force mc involvement and try to tell both stories in full when it should just be about the mc or the oc. having a sidestory is fine, but when you can almost pick every other chapter and be able to know who it's about.... then it becomes much worse imo. in contrast, replacing the mc with an oc entirely doesn't confuse the reader with whom, the story they are telling, it is about.
