The writing quality is pretty good but the only problem is the tenses as they bother me the most when it comes novels. There's also some instances where it feels like the author is talking to us. Although I don't know if it's intentional or not. Everything else is pretty good except for the worldbuilding as we don't know if the MC is originally from earth or some other planet. I know that there's no need for that info but I'd have liked it way more if it had that.
Liked it!
LIKEIt explains it more in detail in the later chapters, mainly chapter 3. chapter 1-2 are basically what happened to Ethan as a child. The portions where I was talking to the reader were intentional. Was it that jarring? I was trying to add some levity to the scene mainly due to how dark it was.
