Most novels tend to be beast taming, cultivation, or gaming novels. If they want another banished to cold palace why have him be a mage instead cause there's few of those and those were done long ago or make him both mage and cultivator where he can pick up fantasy race skills like elves archery or dwarf smithing.
King of God's was a good novel at the start where main character uses archery slot especially with his special eye.

Plus he is not some leader of the devils. He is Shaytaan. He is a person who wants nothing but to divert the way of human kind from God. Even if a person is good he still may be diverted from God and yeah he also calls out to mankind to do bad stuff and bring chaos.
