It's my first time reading a historical romance so I gave it a try. The plot was great although the placement of the person who said the dialogues was a bit confusing. For example, the dialogue was from Isabella but the name after the dialogue was another person, which makes me think it was the latter rather than the former who were talking. But overall, good job author👍🏻

Two dear friends of mine, top 25 authors of female section. - The tortuous opening of the chapter 1 was indeed a clever take on the book. The whole tension in the chapter and the pain of FL was felt effectively. - I loved the pace personally and the well used cliffhanger technique in every chapter. I've read up to 3 chapters and was indeed left with an irk to read more. - Chapter 2 and the quick introduction of the ML and the claim was again a clever move. It hyped the attention and the scenario's tension. - Chapter 3 was simply a sweet one and a good way to make readers feel sympathy with the FL. - The dialogues are Author's strong point along with the character building. WEAKNESS: - The book lacks visual representation, the surroundings around the FL were kinda absent. - I personally have no clue why this book didn't work. Because the plot is great and writing is decent. Honestly, still confused why it failed to capture attention. - Lastly, messes up spaces.

It started with a bang and it progress so excellent. Even though for many it might be a rehash of old fairytale/folk tale, what I'm getting was 80s-90s shoujo manga like the one that I read when I was a kid. Really addictive story.
