The character designs and imagery are fine. Since the novel rarely had detailed character descriptions, there wasn't much to expect design wise. There are two problems I see that don't relate to the imagery. The first big problem I see is the translation. Just by comparing the first chapter of this to the novel makes it clear the translator isn't trying to make it accurate. An adaptation should have similar terms to the source material, but there are so many translation differences that it's clear they don't care. An example would be Essence Energy Art versus Qi Spell. Essence Energy is the name used for energy throughout the entire novel, so Qi should not be mentioned here. As for Spell, I have no clue why that's used instead of art. This whole ordeal just makes it more confusing for people who want to read the original work after reading the comic. The other big problem is the story development. Just chapter 1 alone covers 3 chapters in the novel. The end of chapter 1 corresponds to the end of novel chapter 3. One might expect a decent bit of content from those 3 chapters, but in fact, a lot is cut. One very important detail is the information about how dimensional crystals usually work. That being one needs to absorb crystals of higher values to increase stats. By leaving just that information out, people are left wondering things like "why are his stats so low?" or "is he bad at the game?". Since dimensional crystals are one of the items seen very often in the story, they shouldn't have cut information about the simplest aspects. By hiding this information, people have less of an understanding of WHY things in the story are important or special. TLDR: This manhua is trying to rush through the story without trying to make a faithful adaptation.

My point is that information about how frequently-appearing-concepts work should not be left out. If someone were to read the manhua without reading the novel, they wouldn't be able to understand how exactly Dimensional Crystals work. I think people shouldn't need to read a novel to understand the basic concepts presented in a series.

Second thing is translation even as a person who kept up with novels chapter release and understood power system I was a bit with terminology since the translation just seems weird to me - like "essence energy art" sounds like there was more thought put into the translation compared to "qi spell". There is also a change for certain family(that's important to plot)surname that goes from "An" in the novel to "Ang" in the manhua which seems a bit weird since the latter feels awkard to pronounce.

I don't wanna spoil but no, the MC is not a pushover. He doesn't really put the into place as they get into more agreeable relationship. The An Jing gets put in the place by seeing MC's talent and someone else puts her in the place few times. As for older brother they really don't see eye-to-eye though you need to consider his perspective as there are some arguments for it if you look at the whole picture. Honestly it's better to read novel as it's completed and is better with explaining terminology/power system.

Yes there are going to be some difference as it's hard to do it 1:1 but an adaptation shouldn't need someone to read wiki page/original novel to understand power system - don't you think? Honestly even as someone who read the novel the manhua description still felt confusing. Also I do think that names and important terminology should be kept the same between novel and adaptation. As for translation it may just be personal bias but certain things just feel better in novel for example "An family" and "Ang family". No one asks for the exactly same thing as in novel.

I read the whole comic(chapter 129). So yea, The comic was good but it's incomplete. Especially since that girl who showed up at the end. She looks like the Su Lingyue(more like the female version of MC) from “The Astral Pet Store”. I wonder if it will continue.
