I feel ya, the beginning of stories can be a little like that. But things change tempo soon, by chap 22; you'll see. It's going to be a long series too, so I can't just have exciting stuff all the time otherwise that'll become dry and repeated: I don't like reading those kind of stories. There is a big difference between writing more "active" scenes and writing entertaining scenes. Let's take as an example the Chinese novels and their large number of chapters, which although they are very long become interesting mostly chapters (Depending on the novel).
