Of course ash as he doesn't really follow what his trainer want kind of rebellious when in a really really serious time would he do it as If it benefit him and if he follow ash it more easier to meet all the hot girl naturally.

here's my idea and you don't have to listen to it of course. What if he doesn't have a trainer, and he wanders along routes and battles trainers. Along the way he challenges gym leaders solo. He'd also have a fanbase of people watching recordings of a 'wild pokemon' challenging trainers and gym leaders to battles. In addition there would be some people that actively seek him out to attempt to catch him. I think that's about it.

Can't there's a lot of reasons why but the main one is, he's one of kind. He didn't go to get OP anytime soon so if any trainer wanted to beat him all they would need is overwhelming numbers. Even if he could punch at the speed of sound right now, compared to a Pokemon higher level than him, substantially so he would get curb stomped, which could cause global Catastrophe.
