Standard IET stuff. Honestly all his books are the same and reading one means you read them all. I see no difference between Ji Ning, Qin Yu, Xu Jingming, etc are all literally the same character. But thats fine, people who are reading IET for the first time will get something that isnt straight garbage but I have a big problem with this particular novel. I can *feel* the nationalism when I read this. IET wasnt making it subtle whatsoever here. China #1 can be felt throughout my first 100 or so chapters, lemme explain. So the entire world is given VR technology and when they go online they can practice martial arts. After a while a ranking ranking is made with the strongest at the top and guess which nationality 2 of the top 3 are? Thats right folks, its granddaddy China with the other from Botswana. It just seems like China is naturally more talented than every other country by a wide margin. Lets not even get into the comments from the live streaming in VR, its constantly about oh man, these expert martial artists from [other country] are strong, but China is still better. I think the funniest example is in chapter 148 when the strongest from Korea is made out to be an arrogant mf who is going around challenging the top 3 just to get more views on his live stream. I feel like IET's recent novels have lost the magic from Desolate Era, Swallowed Star, COILING DRAGON, Stellar Transformation, etc and part of that is the nationalism here, while in the other recent novels its been a lot more logical. In his earlier works the MC got super lucky at the start and then had to muddle through the entire universe just to be the best and in recent time the MCs dont get lucky, they were just naturally talented and got some benefits here and there that make sense. My problem is that making sense doesnt carry the same *brilliance* of a moment like in Desolate Era where Ji Ning gets the inheritance and starts his journey or when Lou Feng died fighting the Gold Dragon.

Intergalactic conquest with an AI

Rex was just another slave in the corporate machine, a faceless office worker under the shadow of one of the galaxy's powerful megacorps. His life was predictable and dull, an endless cycle of meaningless reports and fluorescent-lit monotony. That was, until that day.... When a new world was discovered on the outskirts of the galaxy, Rex, like countless other low-ranking employees, found himself dragged into a contract clause he’d barely skimmed years ago. The megacorp ordered him and his coworkers to pack their lives into a transport pod and leave for the unexplored planet. Their mission? Establish a colony. Mine resources. Make the company richer. There was no choice, refusing meant ruin. At first, everything seemed manageable. The days were grueling, the nights cold, but progress was steady. The colony was coming to life. Until the excavation team struck something. No one knew what it was at first, a buried hive, a forgotten ecosystem, or something ancient and dangerous. Whatever it was, it unleashed hell. Swarms of enormous, chittering creatures erupted from the ground, their jagged bodies blotting out the sky. The colony fell into chaos. Screams echoed through the air as the bugs tore through everything in their path, walls, machines, and people. Rex barely survived. Bloodied, broken, and pinned beneath the rubble, he should have died there. But in the pitch-black silence of his fading consciousness, a voice spoke to him. Cold. Mechanical. Otherworldly. "Do you wish to live?" When Rex woke, he was no longer the man he’d been. His body was no longer human flesh and bone but something far more alien. His skin shimmered with living metal, his mind infused with the power of Cleo, a mysterious AI from a long-extinct, robotic race known as the Kaelzars. Cleo’s presence pulsed through his thoughts, guiding him and transforming him. He wasn’t just alive. He was reborn. But survival came at a price. Rex was no longer a pawn of the megacorp; he was something more dangerous, something they couldn’t control. As Cleo’s intentions began to reveal themselves, Rex found himself standing on the precipice of war, not just with the bugs but with forces far greater than he could have imagined. This was the beginning of a journey through blood-soaked battlefields and treacherous alliances. Along the way, Rex would encounter allies, brilliant, flawed, and unpredictable, and enemies whose ambitions were as sharp as their blades. These weren’t disposable foes, easily crushed by an overpowered hero. They were cunning, relentless, and human in the most terrifying ways. But then again, in war, who can truly be called a villain? Legacy of the Void Fleet

Author's Note This is my first novel, and I’m still learning the craft of writing. You may notice some repetition or mistakes throughout the story—please understand that they are part of my growth as a creator. I truly appreciate your time and support, and I welcome any constructive feedback to help me improve. That said… read at your own risk! Don’t point fingers at me for wasting your time or money—you’ve been warned. To those who, despite all this, are still reading the book—thank you. I’m truly grateful that you’ve given me and my work a chance. I’ll keep doing my best to improve myself and the story. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart. .... OLD-WORLD EXTRA

{Check out my new novel, Misunderstood Villain: Heroines Mourn My Death} 'Born In Ruins' was a forgettable read. That was the only way Emir could describe the pages of the novel he had found himself reincarnated into. The young man barely knew anything, but the snippets he had recalled only caused him unending sorrow... As what awaited him was only tragedy and an early death. It was a depressing story, one that he had planned to flip on its head—all for his salvation. — In this post-apocalyptic world, monsters fought humans and cyborgs in a battle for survival on a scale greater than ever before. A world where innocence and death were a luxury, where the line between heroes and villains was razor-thin. Within its expanse, 'Ancient Clans,' 'Galactic Federations,' 'Factions', and 'Corporations' presided over colossal 'Ruins' that dwarfed the concept of life itself. Survivors of the 'Third World War' continuously dove into the 'Old World,' 'Hunting' for 'Relics' in any ruin that they could find on Earth, desperate to reclaim 'Lost' technology, to stand a fighting chance against the inevitable. But it appeared that 'Earthkind' had met their match. …However, Emir would never allow that fate to take its course. — Emir unraveled layers of the tale and realized the truth of the world. He acquainted himself with the rules of this game before it fully consumed him. And now... no longer content with mere survival, he sought to dominate over the very fabric of this unforgiving universe. Emir shall rise from the pawn he once was, seeking to unravel the mysteries that hounded him. The boundaries of 'Aether,' his father’s disappearance, the noose hanging above his family’s head, and of course… his starless destiny, a fate he longed to control. This pursuit would earn him the epithet: "Prince Of The Fallen." ---------------------------------------------- *Tags: Reincarnation ;), Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Magical Realism, Academy (Volume 3), Romance, Apocalypse, {Anti-Hero. Villain.} *Expect this novel to start slowly; it begins ramping up at the halfway point of volume 1. *The Magic System is introduced at the end of volume 1, read my review and Auxiliary chapter for more on that. *Warning: The main characters have emotions like proper humans. So don't expect your usual emo kid as the MC and come complaining later.
