This novel has two big problems I can see atm. 1 The translation is often pretty bad. It's understandable, but still bad. 2 Even with apparently changed fates, the characters act pretty much the same. Originally Tang San built up his love for Xiao Wu from an early age i'm pretty sure. Here, he just falls in love at first sight + Xiao Wu is acting the exact same way she would with Xin as she would have with Tang. Experiences make a part of a person. It's extremely unrealistic seeing some of these characters acting the same way they did in the og.

Well experience do make people but you forgot a fact. Xiao Wu is a 100.000 year old+ spirit beast and the 5 years she spent with Tang San is basicly a drop in the bucket. She wont change much because of less than 0.01% of her time alive with him
Yeah and I'm fairly sure she was basically a houseplant for most of that time. If she was actually sentient for any decent amount of time, she would have most likely already found and fallen in love with someone else besides Tang San already.
Which of the female beast, besides the black dragon and green swan, have fallen in love before they appeared in the anime/novel. None and a lot of them are older than 100.000 years old
There are plenty of reasons why that could be the case.
she wasn't necessarily 100 000 Years in terms of life span age but her spirit ring age
