This is translation review, not novel review. If you are not familiar with it, webnovel has started westernizing most of the novels in 2021. This is awful practice that kills original novel. At best you get only names, places and organizations westernized and at worst you get half novel gutted and other half totally rewritten by translator. With best case scenario you get only names, places and organizations westernized which introduces plotholes cause while names are westernized, actual writing and character culture arent. You get chinese way of thinking, chinese places and organizations translated into most famous western (USA) alternatives and as a result you see absurdity. And with the worst case scenario, you are not actually reading original authors work, but some "translators" plagiarization cause half novel is removed (sometimes critical explanations) and other half is badly rewritten. And cause this requires so much work compared to normal translation, either webnovel is stealing original authors work and rewriting it (cause most of those novels dont come from qidian) or they are just using translators that dont know chinese so they are rewriting story with help of MTL (seen too many edited MTL translations lately on webnovel). overall any westernized novel deserves automatic 1 star review.

Besides people here are looking for stories. if you can point them to the original and it's better then webnovel's metrics will show that people prefer the original over their poor imitation. Easily done. Look up the novel on this site titled "My Identity As The World's Richest Man Was Exposed On a Money Borrowing Television Program" and go to the review by FNU_LNU, same person who posted this translation review. The review has the raws, that you can just look up and put through Google translate, as well as their thoughts on the translation. I read the first 20 chapters of it on this app and the next 20 with MTL and it really felt different. My main problem with westernization is that the culture and mannerisms of USA and China is quite different so it creates a sort of dissonance when reading. General flow of the story is often quite different as well. Quite a lot of people know they have been doing this for a while now, apparently to avoid copyright issues. Every pilot read is a translated novel, I highly doubt there would be so many Chinese authors who would write a novel about Jeff rather than a novel about 陈凡

most raw names are usually available in comments so it is easy to google them. i dont google raw names and compare novels anymore, cause after 5-6 novels i simply stopped reading westernized novels. simply not worth it. i just automatically put 1 star when i see westernized MC in synopsis, and put this copy/paste review from top of my head i can name 3 novels that were 100% plagiarized.
