I have already finished this book so expect some minor spoilers This a book that used some popular and widespread concepts dungeon like gates that caused Apocalypse mc is ruthless vampire you probably saw it enough times that you're starting to get sick of it Despite the book's extra edginess it still has a solid story for the most part and what differentiates it the most from others like it is that the mc isn't a loner he gets subordinates who he later treats like friends and even gets a wife and children despite being a ruthless villain he still cares about his people and helps them grow stronger with him making him able to overcome situations he couldn't get through alone Most characters have great back stories and go through satisfying character growth a perfect example is admantine i am sure anyone who read the book with agree with me but i won't mention why i will keep it to those who read the book The world background could be said to be one of the strongest points of this book but that is most likely because like most of the novels from pancakes witch this book is part of the same universe as with most of her books(you should check them too by the way) Though this book unfortunately drops a bit in quality near the end compared to pancake's other works it still at least has a proper ending or as the chapter title says a "bitter end hopeful future" because while it might have ended we are expecting a sequel that i personally expect to be much better I would recommend this book to anyone considering reading its sequel and those who don't mind a bit of edginess
