That’s the dumbest reason not to give the poor guy some romance. This is a fan “fiction” so why would you create a story that’s the same as canon and not try to do things differently?
This is FF, why keep such unfortunate thing like Kakashi staying single? Plus, this is Chinese, xianxia/wuxia stuff is quite possible. And everyone knows that harem is quite popular writing concept at the east, it's just that Japan portraits it in the most vocal manner of them. Plus FFs are most of the time written by fellow otakus.
Cmon, my boy Kakashi deserves someone.. Even if he is single in canon, we can correct that injustice.
