LIKEwell he's not wrong, I mean the MC is pretty easy to fool, but that's only because he's ignorant about stuff like cultivation at the start, and the side chars are indeed lying about being experts, but they're not exactly shameless, sure they are shameless about the whole lying shtick but they use MCs paintings to buy shit for the MC, the novel repeatedly expresses how these side chars do feel guilty for deceiving the MC. Honestly the dude was just a scholar, how is he supposed to know shit about cultivation? He'll find out sooner or later, sure he could get a bunch of resources for showing off to larger sects, however I think the chances of him being killed for being talented in the bigger sects are much higher than staying in a low-key sect. It's arguable, perhaps MC and his sect will be wiped out right after the sword dao competition when/if he shows off. Who knows, who cares. The novel is good so far, I don't see anything warranting anything less than a 3 star review.
honestly i read the whole mtl and i can say the author ****ed it up after chapter 80 so
i don't mind if he is son of god or whatever. But i fkin mind when the author decide to give a fkin plot armor to side character by giving him a fruit that skip cultivation for 1k year. Then the author have the nerve to give the side character free top tier inheritance "accidentally" by bullshiting all the way from trial.
Hey, don't diss my boy Changyu. The author purposely gave him the thiccest plot armor cuz it's in his backstory to have ridiculous amounts of good luck. Besides this is a satire cultivation novel depicting how easy cultivation is. So it's kinda the point for this novel to have its main characters to cultivate in a ridiculous and easy way.
