This novel surprised me greatly. I'm not sure what I expected going into this story, but I wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much. This was an incredibly relaxing story to read. Usually when I get sucked into a story it's because it's exciting or I'm intrigued to know more, but the best way I can think of to describe this story was I was comfortably snuggled up in bed and didn't want to get up. Characters - We'll start with the MC. Probably what makes you feel relaxed the most. He's a very peaceful and spiritual person, very knowledgeable, and handles life in a smooth manner as is fitting of his raising. He follows his heart and just his way of handling life is something that I really wish I had in my life. The side characters are significantly better than you'd expect from a livestream audience. While only a few of them have been named or interacted with, there is still subtle details and character hidden in the interactions. I'm hoping some of these characters stick around long term to watch the MC's rise. World - World building is a bit slack here, but it's not something to dock the story on. It's a modern day world, probably Earth, and that's about it. This isn't really a story that so far has needed extensive world building and background though, and what is needed exists. Style - This is where the story shines for me. The relaxed feel, the smooth information and knowledge dumps, the details about nature and the world around the MC. All of it just combines to make this story really stand out to me. Overall - I'm off to find and read the MTL after posting this. Hopefully it's not too bad, because I really want to just keep reading. I haven't felt this good after reading something in a long time. No excitement or heart racing, just want to keep staying in this comfy bed a little longer.

LIKENot exactly. There is plot development and it does seem like things aren't random and there is a real plot behind the scenes. That alone tends to go against the definition of a slice-of-life. Slice-of-life but with subtle plot? I'm not sure how to define the genres on this novel. Incredibly enjoyable and relaxing to read with some subtle plot and mysterious to ponder over
Mika_88kenichi:I'm a bit confused. Is this story like a slice-of-life type?
