Chinese slice-of-life novel. You'll like this novel if you like Japanese mangas/light novel titles beginning with 'Living a Carefree Life.' The type of novel in which the protagonist has zero ambition, or drive - just exists, frolicking around, going on joyous adventures with his friends. Baking cookies, and savouring the sweet taste of rainbow cake. And of course, let's not forget swooning around cute little animals either!

Your description of the Novel sounds pretty good to me. I like "Carefree Life" Xianxia novels the most :D Harsh fighting and surviving monsters in a forest to collect beast cores? Nah. Having one of the group fight monsters to gain experience, while the others collect water, fruits and make food with a legendary form-changing god-weapon that is almost exclusively used as a pan? Yea :D
mugihere:This novel's protagonist does have ambitions/goals. He wants to be a professional Pet Tamer and go explore the space craks which are dangerous places due to foreign entities... Did you actually read this?
