I want to give the story ago, however, when choosing the mc's abilities he chose an ability that will affect his mind and make him extremely greedy for useless stuff he may not even need. The ability was something that gave him extra points so he could buy something that would make him more liked by people... Like this is just so inhumanly stupid I'm baffled. I wouldn't give two shts to make people like me over being controlled by greed... For me, this is an extreme downer and has turned me off the story immensely. I mean it purely just doesn't make any sense... Gl to the author but yeah. I found it interesting that the mc wouldn't know any of the future as not many people do this. Plus the whole him hating hydra and knowing about it etc It's just that one point that has turned me off. I don't want to see the mc being controlled by greed to say steal a brick from a house for no reason. Steal something that makes no sense and risks his life because of being controlled by greed etc

It seems you do not read the story properly. At first, I thought just like you so i know where you come from but as I kept on going, it was later revealed that he has a skill/blessing that negates any harmful mental attacks be it from others or his own skill. And it doesn't really matter if he had that skill without the blessing. From what I understood, mc is kinda already dark, not completely but dark nonetheless. He is either chaotic neutral or neutral evil, if that makes sense.
