so what if this is fanfic? so what if this is a story based on WoW? many story such as these are still popular out there. let me name some. World of Warcraft: Foreign Realm Domination (obviously), Hail The King (diablo elements), Abe The Wizard (diablo elements), Bald Monk in The City (dnd elements), and many more on the mtl side (since i forgot most of them i wont say it) My point is. Even though they get some inspiration from famous game it is still very enjoyable, okay! What are you guys reading novel for? Arent you read novel just to find the interesting, amusing, somewhat funny part of the book? dont judge the author just because he/she adapt some elements from famous game As for the book, you should read this, its not in the category of epic book but atleast its enjoyable for me to wanting moar!!

Theres a reason most innovative companies don't wish to produce their products in China if they can help it.... I'm honestly quite weary of the Chinese stories posted on here too, did they really set up a deal with the author? Or did they just take it? There's no indication of either which makes me weary. If someone ever bothers to sue webnovel for monetising a fanfic, they can just point at the waver that you have to sign when publishing something listed as an original novel and shove all the blame on the author without much trouble, meaning you'd be the one that gets sued instead... As it is, the other donation stuff people do is already pushing the boundaries. They only get away with it because the donations are for the creative process of writing fics and not for the actual fics themselves. Posting something on here as an original won't be much of an issue unless the people holding the copyright to the intellectual property your fic is based on decide there's money to be made upon sueing you for it. Fortunately in case of wow classes, they're not very original in the fantasy genres as they occur in a lot of books prior to the first game even releasing, but the same cannot be said for their worlds. In the end tough, its very hard to win a copyright claim featuring creative property. Fanfics in particular are a pain because copyright on books and stories is mostly based on actually copy pasting ****. Just like the sheet music and lyrics are for music. For art, it's really hard to sue as well. If you draw a character, then someone drawing the exact same character with a slightly different pose, style or minor variation in something will likely be able to get away with it in a law suit even if they earn big bucks on their ripoff. The same goes for apps, as long as the code isnt the same and the ui different, you cant do jackshit about it.
The_Good_Devil:They should have bought the copyrights, right?
I was just going to bring up most of what you said. I agree with everything you wrote. Most fanfics are written by people who really care about the material, lore, or a few select characters. So when i see something like this being monetize, i become weary. The book being premium is cool as long the author gets the full proceeds. Not through the qidian sloppy currency system. You paying real world cash for a bunch number of 0 and 1s(JUST CODE COME ON PEOPLE) told to us its worth something. And these dummies eat it up like addicts. Don't get started on bitcoin. I seen people i know scam the general public using the line "bitcoin is the future." I know online currency being the trend is inevitable, but in the hands of greedy corporate
