Only mages who become trainers and druids tend to have the ability to do that. Both can escape danger easily and one can heal it. Not to mention both can teleport, albeit one is only to the moonwell and random locations, its still a massive boost. If I had to choose a class to survive everything wow had to throw at me, I'd choose to be a druid. If nothing else, you can always live your life in seclusion and if it were reality you could probably grow your own food using your powers too.

First step would be to learn magic for the teleportation, second step is to learn swordfighting for physical fitness and closequarter combat and finalmy teleport somewhere no one will find you like a mountain ... build a house ... go find save some pretty woman ... start a family in the house away from everone ... done ...

well i would try to go for westfall (with some strength nobody will bother you there even when the horde invades they don´t really cared about westfall and you can hide in the deathmines (which weren`t occupied), teldrasiel depending on race, otherwise you could always "travel" *cough* away from situations that happen^^ until endgame and you still die because you are too weak
