Hi, this is the author you might have not looked at the name but I wrote Marvels Strongest Father. Just search my name Flat_Moon and it will come up with all the novels I have written. This is a rewrite as I dropped the other one.

Honestly, it's mostly trial and error. Though I would say that you should try and make the first chapter the best it can be. I've scrapped and rewrote the first chapter of my novels at least 5 times. For me, the first chapter should be able to convey two things. 1 is the main character's goals and 2 the personality. Though this differs depending on the age of your character cause if your Mc is young then he's understandably still growing. I pick 18 and up for an age range as thier is some naivety and maturity that you can play with. The second chapter is the same as the first chapter but a discussion of the steps necessary to reach the said goals. Though this could be done in the first chapter. For me, I've never been good with planning so I just let things flow and take on the readers ideas. If you do a system make sure to create a separate draft chapter that has the status. Keep the chapter update so that you can just copy and paste it on chapters where the Mc asks for status. Download Grammarly it's saved me a lot of time. Lastly, always remember that everyone has there own preferences so don't let it get to you when they say it's bad or have a separate opinion but take note as thier opinions can be constructive.
