Though the start of their relationship had rape there, the ML was not cruel to the FL. It was the other way around. The ML was cautious towards offending the FL. He would do all in his power just for the FL to have a bit of favorable impression of him. He’s still cruel etc but that’s against others aside from the FL. Like take for an instance wherein, Chi Yang was strangling that Qianqian while preparing to throw her off through the window of his room from the second floor. He doesn’t care for her result after being thrown. All he cares about is that Nuannuan would not misunderstand him and leave him in disgust. To him, she’s his life, heart and soul. The father is ambitious but he still has enough sense to know who was right. Probably because this is driven by his ambition but he would still harshly reprimand his wife and Zhong Qianqian when they make mistakes and more if they cross the line. But this pair... hehehe.. I could only think of this mother-daughter pair as pimp or mama San and highly paid prostitute combo. The pacing of the story is good, there’s no jumping between scenes so far. Updates? I don’t know since 60 chapters were all that was posted. Translation is good and also has errors. Pet peeve in this translation is NIGHTGOWNS.
