Pros: The plot is excellent There is a lot of action and unexpected twists and turns Cons: The author is clearly a man who has limited knowledge of female anatomy, aside from **** Also, too much detail is given to the guns and load-outs of the munitions (Perhaps these are “pros” from a male perspective, but not so much for the rest of us) The premise is not uncommon and the author even uses other works to compare the MC and the plot, which is refreshing. The reader is able to place him/herself into the roles of several different characters. Character development is substantial and sometimes tedious, but appreciated in a long work. However, the author is clearly younger and references females being emotional or unstable due to menstration and makes other stereotypical comments. Furthermore, while *** and sexual exploits are expected, those encounters are written in unnatural ways, which is more suited for scripted pornography or even anime The situations and descriptions are clearly for the males benefit and would be impossible in real life, which leads a reader to skim or even skip multiple paragraphs. Additionally, even for a casual gun enthusiast, the tedious and often never-ending descriptions of the guns, ammunitions, and various gear used by the characters cause the reader to skim/skip paragraphs, as well. Minute details are not necessary to any plot or subplot and only cause reader confusion. While the critiques are valid and cause the reader frustration, the plot is excellent and a reader can forgive the inexperienced fantasy scenes and over-explained details in order to enjoy the story development. For anyone who enjoys zombies, apocalypse, or end of world contemplation, this is worth the read-for both male and female readers.
